Terrorists are using cryptocurrencies to fund their deadly missions because the anonymity of the technology allows them to escape scrutiny, Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton will say.

Mr Dutton will on Thursday address the No Money for Terror conference, an international conference reviewing ways to stop terrorist funding, in Melbourne.

“The anonymity afforded by such technologies enables terrorist financiers to obfuscate their activities,” the minister will say, according to The Courier-Mail reported.
