A teenager accused of plotting a ‘Columbine-style mass shooting’ at a school has been found guilty.

Kyle Davies was said to have a “deep and persistent” interest in mass shootings and saw those behind the massacre at Columbine High School as his “poster boys”.

The 19-year-old, from the Wotton area of Gloucester, was today convicted of attempting to possess a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life.

He had denied the charges but was found guilty by a jury following a two-week trial.

Gloucester Crown Court had been told that Davies used the cryptocurrency Bitcoin to purchase a Glock 17 handgun and ammunition from an online gun dealer through the dark web.

This was intercepted at an airport in New York and the A-level student was arrested after an undercover officer delivered a replica package to his home in Gloucester on June 20 last year.
