NYU’s Stern School of Business is not offering a major dedicated to the emerging world of cryptocurrency, despite reports to the contrary.
Stern administrators have had to quell stories of a possible undergraduate program focused on blockchain over the past few days. CBS Channel 2 first reported about Stern being the first school to offer a specialization (not major) in cryptocurrency, but the article has since been taken down from its website.
“NYU Stern [is] among the first business schools to launch a Fintech specialization for its MBA students in Fall 2016,” Kristen Huff, Associate Director of Communications for Stern, said in an email to Local. “While we do also offer courses for undergraduate business students, we do not currently offer a cryptocurrency major.”
