Sirin Labs, the company behind the development of the Finney phone, could have changed its plans, abandoning IOTA in favor of adopting Ethereum for its blockchain-oriented phone.

However, according to reports from ETHNews, Moshe Hogeg, CEO of Sirin Labs, personally told them that the two projects went their separate ways:
“We’re not with iota, we looked into it and decided to go a different route.”
It seems that now, the Sirin Labs team would be focusing on the development of a private network based on Ethereum:
“At launch, we will be using the blockchain … the FINNEY will process through a series of complete nodes hosted at Sirin Labs.”
