Microsoft Wants To Mine Cryptocurrency From Your Body Activity Data

Cryptocurrency mining is a processor-heavy task, and thus it requires computers with over the top configurations. It is the reason why bitcoin miners are rewarded whenever a new block of transactions is added to the blockchain.

Now, Microsoft wants to change this by mining cryptocurrency from your body activity data. The Windows-maker company recently filed a patent, according to which a new process to mine cryptocurrency from body activity data would eliminate the need for specialized hardware called ASICs.

The patent titled “Cryptocurrency System Using Body Activity Data” says that the energy for mining cryptocurrency could be generated from a brain wave or body heat when a human being performs simple tasks like watching an advertisement.

As per the patent, Microsoft has planned to use a variety of sensors like thermal sensors, heart rate sensors, fMRI scanners, NIRS sensors, EEG sensors, and cameras to measure the heat generated from the human body.
