Martin Lewis has issued an urgent warning of a new email scam doing the rounds.

The financial guru took to Twitter to alert people of a fake bitcoin email that is currently circulating.

The email uses celebrity names and famous faces – including Martin Lewis – to endorse Bitcoin trading in a bid to get certain Bitcoin schemes seen by other users.

The scam was first flagged up by a Twitter user who reported a screenshot of the email he received to Martin Lewis.

It reads: “Just to let you know there are emails getting sent out using your name and image to promote @Bitcoin.

“I have had these same emails using various celebrities but I’m sure you would want to distance yourself from them”.

To which Martin replied: “Be warned any email from me about Bitcoin is BOGUS, BALONEY and any other similar B word.

“Ignore, delete, and then wash your hands because these are dirty nasty scammers doing it”.
