NEW YORK — A man who was arrested in Barnstable in 2018 for his role in laundering $400 million in proceeds from the international cryptocurrency scheme OneCoin is seeking to have his 2019 conviction overturned.

Mark Scott argues that not enough evidence was produced at his trial, where he was found guilty of conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit bank fraud. He seeks to be acquitted or at least granted a new trial.

The prosecution called OneCoin “a massive pyramid fraud scheme” that was conceived to defraud investors, gathering more than 3 billion euros in revenue between 2014 and 2016.
