Bitcoin (BTC) recently recorded its highest weekly closing of 2019 as predicted by market analysts. The altcoin markets are, however, yet to see notable gains, but most of the top twenty cryptos have recorded modest gains in the past 24 hours. Here are your latest cryptocurrency news and updates.  

Latest Bitcoin (BTC) news and prices

As per data from CoinMarketCap, the BTC/USD pair is trading at $11,400.57 per coin at the time of writing. The OG cryptocurrency completed last week’s sessions, closing at almost $11,500 on several exchanges, thus marking its best weekly performance of the year so far.

Many analysts, such as Josh Rager, predicted that Bitcoin could, in fact, surpass its 2019 weekly close record.

Rager predicted that the $11,474 level is the price point to beat in order to net the 2019 high.
