Hackers are changing their tactics as the pretend Elon Musk crypto scam makes a comeback…

Last month, a series of verified Twitter accounts were hijacked by scammers, who promptly made them look like versions of Tesla boss Elon Musk’s own account. The blue-ticked accounts then posted messages that Musk was leaving his role at Tesla, and giving away cryptocurrency to mark the occasion. All you had to do was send them a small amount of Bitcoin first, and you’d get lots in response.

You can probably guess how all that panned out. The assortment of Twitter feeds were eventually restored to their owners, but not until over $100,000 of Bitcoin had been scammed. You can read our full report on the scams here.
