Cryptocurrency ranks second riskiest scam in 2019  | News

As a part of Nation Consumer Protection Week, the Better Business Bureau (BBB) is reporting the top ten scams through their annual Risk Report.

“Simply stated, National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) is a time to help people understand their consumer rights and make well-informed decisions about money,” said Heather Clary, the director of communications for central and eastern Kentucky BBB. “It’s a coordinated campaign among numerous state and federal agencies from the government and nonprofit sector. It’s all an effort to let the public know about resources available to them to assist them in being well informed and protecting themselves from scams.”

For the second year in a row, the number one riskiest scam was employment scams, according to BBB 2019 Scam Tracker Risk Report.
