Cryptocurrency Exchange Operator Cleared of All Charges

After a long drawn out court case, Alexander Vinnick was cleared of all charges. Earlier, the operator of cryptocurrency exchange, BTC-e  was arrested in Greece following charges of money laundering of $4 (some sources say $9) billion via cryptocurrency exchange BTC-e. There were reports that had suggested that the stolen bitcoin from Mt Gox (one of the largest hacks in history) were transferred to BTC-e.

Investigations by Wizsec, a group of bitcoin security specialists, had identified Vinnik as the owner of the wallets into which the stolen bitcoins had been transferred, many of which were sold on BTC-e. Apart from that, he was also wanted in Russia and the United States of America.
