FORT PIERCE, Fla. (CBS12) — 

The bitcoin email bomb threat hoax has reached Fort Pierce.

Police said Sunday a local business contacted authorities after it received an email bomb threat demanding a payment in bitcoin to avoid a bomb going off.

Detectives determined the threat to be a hoax.

Fort Pierce Police wanted to remind people to call police if you receive a threat of any kind.
