Cryptocurrency lending firm Celsius Network has hired Jeremie Beaudry as general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Beaudry joins the fintech startup’s New York office after having most recently served as CCO at BitPay, a blockchain payment service provider headquartered in Atlanta. He specializes in corporate counseling, risk mitigation and risk management.

“I strongly believe in Celsius’s mission to become the leading interest-earning platform for stable coins and cryptocurrency holders, and my previous experience will only drive that mission forward,” Beaudry stated in a news release announcing his appointment Wednesday.

“I will increase organizational efficiency, manage regulatory issues, and mitigate legal problems which can translate to higher net profits for our depositors, and I’m excited to contribute to the growth of Celsius,” he added.
